My immediate neighbor’s children did this 25 years ago. Here is the story. These were half siblings but, in my culture, it doesn’t matter as half siblings is more of a Western World thing than an Asian or African phenomenon. Brothers and sisters who have children even though are a taboo here; we actually witness them firsthand.
A man fathered children with his married wife and also fathered several others outside the wedlock. He and his mistress vowed to keep this a secret until it’s inevitable to break the news or as circumstances may warrant.
Coincidentally, all the children attended the same Primary and Secondary schools as well as at the University. They had a striking resemblance which drew them closer because other pupils kept telling them how they look alike.
Unknown to the parents, two started dating at the university due to the close bond they had developed since Primary school. One thing led to another. Meanwhile, the girl’s mother passed away before telling anyone of her daughter’s biological father considering she was married to someone else herself. The biological father also kept it a secret.
The girl conceived shortly after university. The two agreed to advance the relationship to marriage now that they had started working and gainfully employed.
The boy child opted to take her soon-to-be bride home to meet his parents. He notified his parents to prepare for that. They invited close relatives to attend this introduction occasion.
Father tells wife that the brides-to-be were a brother and sister who have children
The guests came. The father of the groom-to-be, in realizing it his own daughter expecting for his own son and wants to marry him, stepped out and asked the wife to accompany him for an emergency briefing. He confesses to her that even the girl is his own child he had fathered with a neighbor’s wife. Then, he apologized to the wife for cheating on her many years ago. He begs her that they should together stop the children from marrrying.
Before he could complete the dialogue with the wife, he felt dizzy, sat down and blacked out. He was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced dead hours later.
The children didn’t proceed with the marriage but had the baby and went on to find different partners. Indeed, Brothers and sisters who have children are a rarity in this world but when it happens, it attracts a lot of attention.
